Managing your prepaid Citi card online is a breeze with the Citi account online service.  The Citi Prepaid Service allows a user to check account balance and view or update account information.  To begin you will have to choose your language preference, enter your 16-digit card number and then click the next button.  You will have the option for the computer to remember this information for you.  Only check that box if your comfortable with the computer automatically accessing your account when prepaid.citi.com is accessed.  If you’re accessing the site from a library for example DO NOT check that box.  Once you have signed in you will be able to view the available balance on the card and make any needed updates to your account.

You will have two different options when making a purchases with the Citi Prepaid Card.  You can either elect credit or debit at the time of checkout.  If you choose “credit” you will have to provide a signature when making a purchase.  If you choose “debit” you will be required to enter your PIN # to make the purchase.  Please note that some retailers will not allow you to obtain cash back under this form of payment.  Another thing to keep in mind is this prepaid card from Citi is not a credit card.  You can only spend the available balance on your card and nothing more.  Once the balance hits zero you will be declined when attempting to make a purchase.  Also the card might not work at a gas pump.  Most of the time you will be required to present your card to the cashier within the gas station.  If you ever need to get cash from the card please visit any Visa member bank and present the card to the bank teller along with the amount of money you would like to withdraw from the card.
